Bladed Auger
NUB Bladed Augers have been successfully used in all except the most severe boulder conditions.
The solid steel mandril is squared at the top and entered into the Kelly Box and the top flight is taken on and welded to the Kelly Box.
Flights
All flights are hot pressed to eliminate the tendency for crack formation
during pressing and to reduce inherent stresses in the steel.
Standard augers consist of a lead flight 30mm thick with two succeeding flights each 25mm thick.
Blade Holder
The NUB patented cast blade holder is integral with the leading end
of the mandril to ensure strength at this maximum stress point.
Blade
A drop forged high carbon cutting blade is fitted and is held in position
by a single bolt.
