Rock Chisel
NUB Rock Chisels are used on the crane line and are supplied complete with shackles to facilitate withdrawal through casings, the diameter of the chisel is reduced along its length.
The cutting edges are multi-stepped to improve penetration and are hardfaced on a base of low hydrogen weld metal to minimise cracking.
The design is such that the hydraulic resistance is at a minimum when operating through water.
Since it is impractical to include side cutters in tools up to and including 500mm diameter, a simple cruciform construction is adopted. All larger diameters have side cutters extended almost the full length of the Rock Chisel.
