Bladed Augers have been successfully used in all
except the most severe boulder conditions.
The solid steel mandril is squared at the top & entered into the Kelly Box & the top flight is taken on & welded to the Kelly Box.
Flights - All flights are hot pressed to eliminate the
tendency for crack formation during pressing & to reduce inherent
stresses in the steel. Standard Augers consist of a lead flight 30mm thick
with two succeeding flights each 25mm thick.
Blade Holder - The N.U.B. patented cast blade holder
is integral with the leading end of the mandril to ensure
strength at this maximum stress point.
Blade - A drop forged high carbon cutting blade is fitted
& is held in position by a single bolt.
